Welcome to Grant Park

Lush green spaces and tons of historic charm make Grant Park one of Atlanta’s most beloved neighborhoods. Home to Grant Park, Atlanta’s oldest city park that sprawls across 130 acres, there are plenty of reasons to get outside here. With miles of walking paths, Zoo Atlanta, and the Grant Park Farmers Market, there’s always something to do in Grant Park! This neighborhood also hosts some of Atlanta’s favorite festivals, like the Summer Shade Arts & Music Festival, as well as a Halloween Lantern Parade.

When it comes to housing, you’ll find some unique and charming architecture in this neighborhood, similar to Buckhead. Victorian beauties and Craftsman bungalows dot the tree-lined streets. Despite climbing home prices, Grant Park has recently added more apartment communities to accommodate a variety of renters.

Neighborhood Life

Overall, the Grant Park neighborhood has a relaxed but vibrant feel. On the weekends, residents can be found strolling through the park, enjoying a leisurely picnic, or grabbing fresh local produce from the farmers market. The vibe ranges from quiet and family-friendly to hip and eclectic depending on your proximity to downtown.

When it comes to housing options, the majority is clustered off Memorial Drive and has a very modern, new-construction feel. Most rental buildings in the area are mixed-use, with retail and dining below, so you’ll always be within walking distance of excellent restaurants.

Local Hangouts

Oakland Cemetery is a favorite local haunt (pun intended!) Covering over 48 acres, it’s a great place for a quiet stroll through stunning foliage and flowers, and is the final resting place of famous Atlantans like Margaret Mitchell and Maynard Jackson.

Head to The Beacon, a group of repurposed industrial buildings, for brews at Eventide, or grab a bowl of ramen at the recently opened Hotto Hotto. Mediterranea Bakery has a fully gluten-free menu as well as a darling rooftop patio with remarkable views. The Grant Park Farmers Market is open April through December, and features local vendors selling everything from farm-fresh eggs to wood-fired pizzas!

Things to Know

Grant Park is very pedestrian-friendly, especially once you’re in the park itself. If you need to take public transit, there is a MARTA station at the north end of Grant Park. Dogs are allowed almost everywhere, and you’ll find plenty of restaurants with dog-friendly patios.
