Welcome to Woodlake-Westchase

Neighborhoods Included

Midwest, eastern edge of Memorial, The Memorial Villages, Briargrove Park

While some parts of Houston stay tranquil enough to feel like an escape from living in one of the largest cities in the country, the Woodlake-Westchase neighborhood forms a distinctively urban environment that reinforces that reality. The city’s elite flock to this area of high-rise apartments and upscale mansions, not only for the residential homes, but also for the work centers as well. In fact, over 1,500 businesses are based in this section of town, including the headquarters of BMC Software, The Men’s Warehouse, and Randall’s Food Market. With such big names around, the smaller neighborhoods found within this community buzz with activity. The Mid West, for example, bursts with options for nightlife in the form of bars, clubs, and restaurants. And the Memorial Villages, a residential oasis composed of six independent villages, take pride in their sense of community.

Neighborhood Vibe

The “work hard, play hard” mentality is embedded in the DNA of the Woodlake-Westchase area. While Monday through Friday sees everyone at the grind, the weekends send the locals to Westheimer Road, an entertainment hot spot where they sip chic, craft cocktails at Sophie or down oysters by the dozen alongside abundant seafood towers at Loch Bar. To satisfy any cravings for a Sunday Funday with less alcohol and more exercise, hit the courts and make new friends in the process at Woodlake Community Park.

Our Favorite Spots

The culinary scene in Woodlake-Westchase is one of the city’s best-kept secrets. The restaurants here might not look flashy or lead with aesthetics, but they more than make up for it in flavor. Enter Rudi Lechner’s Restaurant, and transport yourself to Munich during Oktoberfest after multiple rounds of schnitzels and steins of beer. Or, take your taste buds on a trip to France at Bistro Le Cep, where the decadent and delicious creations include such classics as Coq au Vin and Canard à l’Orange.

Things to Know

Not only does this area serve as a business hub, but it also provides one of the most convenient locations from which to commute to other parts of the city. The METRO public transit system maintains a park-and-ride station for residents to travel easily to and from the heart of Downtown. And this station will only grow more efficient due to additional plans to expand the number of parking spots at the location in years to come.
