Welcome to North Miami Beach

Located midway between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, and adjacent to many major highways, North Miami Beach truly sits at the “Crossroads of South Florida.” Technically a city, rather than a neighborhood, this refreshingly balanced, multicultural city promotes stability, inclusivity, creativity, and innovation. It supplies a mix of upscale waterfront properties and more affordable residential options.

Locals love North Miami Beach for the secluded location, access to many dining and shopping choices, and two huge parks. Some people prefer to live here to avoid the hustle and bustle of other Miami areas.

Vibe

The City of North Miami Beach forms an older, more residential area. Since tourists don’t frequent the area, it’s perfect for someone who wants to live far away from visitors in a tightly-knit community. It provides good dining options and access to major highways while remaining peaceful, and it appeals to the nature lover hungry for outdoor adventures. Additionally, the central location made North Miami Beach one of South Florida's best-known regional shopping areas and one of its most famous sites for offices.

Fave spots

Get outdoors for camping, golfing, and hiking at Greynolds Park, and head to Oleta River State Park for everything from kayaking to mountain biking. These two parks create beautiful green oases in the midst of urban life.

Duffy’s is a cool waterfront sports bar with huge screens. Lique offers a creative menu of Mediterranean plates and sushi, plus a raw bar with a romantic water view. Don’t miss IPIC Theaters, an upscale cinema chain with plush seating, gourmet light bites, cocktails, and in-theater service.

Things to Know

North Miami Beach often gets confused with North Beach. NMB used to have access to the beach within its city limits, but not anymore. The ocean is not within walking distance, but is within a short ride. In general, NMB is less walkable than other Miami areas, so you do need a car to get around.

Some people prefer living on the Intracoastal Waterway to living with an ocean view. At night, all the buildings create beautiful twinkling lights on the water.
