Welcome to Miami Design District

The Design District, a creative neighborhood and a deluxe shopping mecca, is all about fashion, art, design, architecture, and dining. It hosts top-of-the-line fashion and jewelry brands alongside high-end restaurants.

Located north of Midtown and next to Wynwood and Edgewater, residents of these neighborhoods flock here for the upscale ambiance, unrivaled service, and unparalleled beauty. It’s designed for the most discerning locals and patrons, and it never stops impressing.

Vibe

The Design District instantly transports you into the world of luxury, beauty, art, design, and innovation. Even for a longtime Miami local, visiting it mesmerizes the senses.

The best of the best restaurants, architecture, art, and designer shops – like Hermes, Gucci, Rolex, Dior, Versace – line streets brimming with trees and teeming with affluent locals and visitors. A few exciting galleries for the connoisseur of all things exquisite and creative round out the neighborhood’s lavish offerings.

This relatively new, up-and-coming neighborhood has blossomed fast within the last 3 years. The Design District itself doesn’t house many residential properties, and locals usually live in the nearby Midtown, Wynwood, or Edgewater. But new residential developments are underway, so this is a good time to move here.

Fave spots

Don’t miss the spectacular public art located throughout the neighborhood. From the huge artsy swing-set installation by the Cartier shop, to the geodesic dome amidst palm trees in Palm Court, to Sol LeWitt’s sculpture garden, and a web of hanging chairs by German designer Konstantin Grcic, your eyes will have plenty to feast on.

The art lover will enjoy the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) and some local galleries, including David Castillo, Locust Projects, and the De La Cruz Collection.

Cote is the newest noteworthy restaurant on the scene, where Korean barbecue meets a classy American steakhouse.

Things to Know

Thanks to many shopping and dining options as well as the proximity of Midtown offices, the neighborhood stays quite busy all day long.

People tend to live in the nearby areas of Edgewater, Wynwood, and Midtown and come to Design District to immerse themselves in luxury and creativity.
