Welcome to Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is a picturesque, artistic neighborhood with laid-back energy and a very lush landscape. It definitely has a “don’t-worry-be-happy”, “slow-down-and-enjoy-life” vibe to it.

It offers some upscale waterfront properties, as well as some modest units in older buildings.

Coconut Grove has a 24/7 police patrol and is one of the safest areas of Miami. It’s a perfect place to raise a family with many prestigious schools around. It fosters a strong sense of community, thanks to its many parks and walkable areas.

The crowd here is international and cultured, with many recent developments bringing in younger, affluent residents. However, it’s not a party area, and the main form of nightlife is dining out.

Vibe

Coconut Grove is abundantly green and known for its tropical vibe – providing its residents with plenty of beautiful outdoor spaces for recreation. Banyan trees, palms, and oaks mingle along peaceful residential streets. It’s ideal for a nature lover who wants to be a part of a strong community.

There are two types of buildings in the Grove – modern and Mediterranean. There are not too many contemporary condos yet, which makes apartment hunting more competitive. Brand-new buildings like Grove at Grand Bay and One Park Grove are setting the stage for more upcoming luxury real estate development in the area.

Locals love the Grove for peace and security, with many old-timers living here for decades. You can find them spending time with their friends and family at Peacock Park, Kennedy Park, and the recently opened Regatta Park.

Residents go shopping and out to dinner in Cocowalk, which has been recently renovated, as well as other authentic spots around Grand Ave. You can find some rare gems in the nearby indie boutiques and art galleries.

Many eateries have outdoor seating, so you can take in all the luxuriant views. Here, it’s not about being loud, edgy, or flashing big names – it’s about families, peace, food, safety, comfort, and quality.

Locals also love to hang out in several marinas, like Grove Key, Grove Isle, Dinner Key, and Prime, two yacht clubs—Biscayne Bay and Coral Reef—and many sailing clubs.

Fave spots

Residents admire Bellini, one of the newest and most upscale rooftop restaurants with amazing views of Biscayne Bay and Peacock Park.

Things to know

A car is not necessary for this highly walkable area. In fact, many people prefer it that way so they can connect to their community.

There’s a free trolley with stopping points along Grand Ave, South Bayshore Drive, Grove Metrorail Stations, Peacock Park, and Kennedy Park.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, situated on a lavish, historic Italian-style villa by the bay, still draws in locals and visitors alike. There are so many things to explore, and it has such a unique, charming appeal that some residents keep returning again and again.

Other historic bayfront landmarks that locals love are The Kampong (by appointment only) and The Barnacle Historic State Park.
